PERTH – Tapt Media’s 6PR has cemented its status as the heartbeat of Western Australian
community advocacy, generating over $305,000 in critical donations for local charities in
less than four weeks. Through a targeted series of high-impact outside broadcasts, studio
takeovers, and dollar-match campaigns, the station has demonstrated the unrivalled
capacity of live, local talk radio to convert audience attention into immediate community
action.

6PR’s Month of Giving: The Breakdown

*Anglicare WA ($197,000+ Raised): On 3rd June, Anglicare WA executed an
unprecedented 6PR studio takeover for its inaugural Giving Day. Following a
powerful two-week awareness campaign, a dedicated day of live and recorded
segments shattered expectations, raising more than $197,000 to help Western
Australians thrive through the winter months.

*Variety WA ($43,000+ and counting): Broadcasting live from the Baillie Hill
Entertainment Precinct on 12th June, hosts Simon Beaumont and Tod Johnston
launched Variety’s “Double the Magic” campaign. Championing children living with
disabilities and disadvantage, the broadcast secured over $43,000, with matched-
giving opportunities continuing online through June 30.

*Lionheart Grief Support (~$40,000 Raised): In a unique trade case study on 10th
June, long-time 6PR advertiser Miguel De Freitas (De Freitas and Ryan Commercial
Property) chose to “teach a charity to fish.” Rather than a standard cash donation,
Miguel funded a dedicated 6PR media campaign for the child grief charity.
Recognized for its massive value, 6PR matched the investment dollar-for-dollar,
helping this mighty, independent non-profit raise nearly $40,000 in its EOFY dollar-
match stream.

*Solaris Cancer Care ($26,000 Raised): On 26th May, Morning’s presenter Simon
Beaumont broadcasted live from Solaris in Cottesloe. Connecting listeners directly
with inspiring stories of care and survival, the single-day broadcast raised an
incredible $26,000 from the 6PR community.

6PR Content Manager, Brad Pottinger, said: “6PR is a fierce, proud advocate for Western
Australia. For us, being a local broadcaster means standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the
organizations making our state a better place. To raise over $305,000 in a single month is a
remarkable testament to the generosity of our listeners and the deep trust they place in our
station and our broadcasters.”
