Siobhain Ryan steps into new role as 4BC station manager
Tapt Media has announced the appointment of Siobhain Ryan (née McDonnell) to the role of Station Manager for 4BC. The move underscores Tapt Media’s commitment to the Brisbane market and its ongoing strategy of delivering the very best in live and local news, sport, culture and opinion.
Tapt Media is building on its network’s strong foundations by investing directly in local leadership across the country. A key priority of this network-wide strategy is backing 4BC’s talk format to fully capitalise on the significant growth potential within the Brisbane region.
In her new role, Ryan assumes responsibility for building 4BC’s presence in Brisbane. This includes driving local content, expanding local partnerships, securing new business opportunities, and collaborating with key local decision-makers to ensure the station remains deeply ingrained in the community.
Tapt Media CEO, Tom Malone welcomed the appointment, noting Ryan’s deep roots in the local market: “As a Brisbane local, Shiv thoroughly understands the city’s cultural landscape. Her strong local pedigree will ensure 4BC remains deeply connected to its community and focused on what matters most to Brisbane listeners.”
Ryan brings 17 years of industry experience to the role, having worked extensively across the Brisbane market with Nine, SCA, and ARN.
Siobhain Ryan said: “I first walked into 4BC as a teenager and was hooked from day one, working my way up through roles in work experience, producing, and content management. To now take on the role of Station Manager is a great honour. 4BC is a heritage brand in our city, and I look forward to growing the station and delivering for our audience. Commercial talk radio has a massive part to play in shaping Brisbane, and I am excited to lead the team as we head towards milestone events like the 2032 Olympics.”
Ryan assumes her new responsibilities as 4BC Station Manager effective immediately.
